My next coat!

Another fall, another Howl-o-ween at Barking Hills. This year's event was also a celebration of Dogs In Service, with many of the Pet Assisted Therapy teams attending.

Grand Prize went to someone who should never have been allowed in a party for dogs - Cruella DeVil and Mabel, disguised as a dalmatian.

How dare someone try to turn such a beautiful dog into their next coat!

Tied for the Odd Couple Award, honoring last year's grand prize winner were two Opposites Attract entries:

Might be better to be eaten than have to wear this costume for much longer!
Angel and Ricky as the Gladiator and the Lion
Angel and Devil
Gypsy and Andorra as Devil and Angel (with a closeup of Gypsy)
I may look angelic, but those are horns, really

Three awards honored a trend towards more human-canine costume teams:

Pals forever
Janet and Duke as Best of the West
Wait till they see us at St. Joseph in these outfits
Donna with Dr. Winnie and Nurse Ebony - the First in Aid Award

and last year's Odd Couple, Cynthia and Thor back as the Cutest Couple
Thor as a bride - both in drag, it turns out

Showing Best Use of Class Skills were Rufus and Mac as the Clydesdale Horses. Missing from the photo is the large (and I do mean large) wagon of Budweiser boxes they were pulling.
What I want to know is who drank all the Bud, anyway?

And there were two entries which may have tried the patience of the canines, but all in a good cause....

Hmmph. Pumpin patch indeed. What are all these things hanging off me
Cosmo as a Pumpkin Patch
Absolutely Most Adorable
Well, I am adorable..
Figgie as a Clown
Most Patient in Costume

Of course, the performers and royalty were back:

and, a Queen

This year also featured two Super Dogs, Keeper and Laddie, and a  not-quite super, but very blue, Sherman as Blues Clues

There were two beach bums, Misty as a Lifeguard and Mozart as a Beach Boy, just waiting to be rescued.
Where's the water. I want to try out this gear. I am one cool dude, dude

Max reprieved his entry as a NY Yankee, but this year, he had a human competitor (Go Yankees!)
Hey! Who's this guy wearing my shirt?

Jill and Spanky hammed it up as pumpkins
What do you think? This fall's top fashion, or what?

At the end of the day, everyone was tired,

but happy
Say goodnight, Gracie. OK.

Guess Who!? (What's that Cat doing at a BHCC Party?)
See you next year.
