Malcolm Fund Dogs
Sometimes you just need someone to hug!
The Malcolm Fund, named after a very special cocker spaniel, provides critically ill children with their own "Animal Assisted Therapy Dog" - a stuffed animal. Many children bond strongly with the visiting dogs and The Malcolm Fund provides stuffed dogs, dressed identically to their live counterparts, who look similar to the real dog with whom the child has a relationship. The children use these dogs as attachment objects and carry them during treatments and procedures when the real dog is not permitted or available.
