Jumping & Retrieving

Whether it's the newspaper or a competition dumbbell - retrieving is something any dog can do! This quick four session class, using positive methods, will teach a dog of any breed to happily retrieve anything they can lift!  We'll also teach your dog to jump cleanly and safely for any sport or just for fun.

Does your dog bring the ball to you and then - GOTCHA' runs right out of reach?

Will your dog run out to the frisbee(tm) but not pick it up?

Have you given up on competition obedience because you just can't get the retrieve?

Whether you have a beloved pet, Therapy Dog, hunting dog or obedience competitor, we can help.  This fun, fast class will help you teach your dog to retrieve anything!  Keys, the television remote, a dropped pencil, his or her food dish - you name it and your dog will retrieve it and place it in your hand!  Your dog will be happy to jump over anything he or she can jump safely.

Requirements
  • The desire to have fun with your dog!
  • Not required but taking a shaping class first will help.

Rules and Regulations

  • NO DOGS WILL BE PERMITTED ON THE PREMISES WITHOUT A COPY OF CURRENT IMMUNIZATION RECORDS
  • The same handler must handle the dog for the entire set of classes
  • Each handler may handle only one dog (without prior instructor permission) for the entire set of classes.
  • Dogs must have current identification (ID tag) on their collars
  • Read the complete Barking Hills Rules and Regulations
  • Since we close our classes when full, there are no refunds once you have paid for class.

Holiday and Weather Closings

  • Please call (908) 996-9911 two hours before the start of your class to check for weather related closings. If classes have been cancelled, the machine will have a message stating so, otherwise, classes are on schedule.
  • Barking Hills is closed Independence Day weekend (July 4-6), Thanksgiving (November 24-28), Winter Holidays (December 24-January 2), Martin Luther King Day (Jan 18) and Memorial Day week (May 21st -23rd)
