Rally Novice -  Level 1

It’s the latest and greatest in dog sports! You can learn Rally to compete, or just for fun!  Rare Breeds, Mix Breeds and Purebreds all can compete. AKC recognized on January 1, 2005. Use all the skills and communication you and your dog have developed in an organized event. You might even win prizes or earn a title! Dogs and handlers follow a pre-set course and complete a variety of exercises. Great communication, and well-practiced obedience skills are all you need to succeed! Rally is low-pressure, lots of fun and a great way to spend time with your dog. The courses cover the specific skills needed to participate in the Novice level of Rally Obedience participants will learn the signs, hone their skills, learn the rules, and, in general, have a great time!

Requirements
  • The desire to have fun with your dog!
  • In order to maximize the  fun, it is helpful to have completed a Basic Obedience class.

Rules and Regulations

  • NO DOGS WILL BE PERMITTED ON THE PREMISES WITHOUT A COPY OF CURRENT IMMUNIZATION RECORDS
  • The same handler must handle the dog for the entire set of classes
  • Each handler may handle only one dog (without prior instructor permission) for the entire set of classes.
  • Dogs must have current identification (ID tag) on their collars
  • Read the complete Barking Hills Rules and Regulations
  • Since we close our classes when full, there are no refunds once you have paid for class.

Holiday and Weather Closings

  • Please call (908) 996-9911 two hours before the start of your class to check for weather related closings. If classes have been cancelled, the machine will have a message stating so, otherwise, classes are on schedule.
  • Barking Hills is closed Independence Day weekend (July 4-6), Thanksgiving (November 24-28), Winter Holidays (December 24-January 2), Martin Luther King Day (Jan 18) and Memorial Day week (May 21st -23rd)
