Lure Coursing

Fun and fast for all sizes. Lure Coursing is letting your dog do what comes naturally - chase stuff. The area is completely fenced. Lure coursing is a lot of fun, but the dogs run hard, so please check with her veterinarian. Dogs will be run individually and the Hunt Master has final say on temperature, weather and turf cancellations, whether a dog may run and how many times a dog may run in a day. Please call two hours before the start of coursing to determine temperature, weather and turf conditions.

  • Veterinarian clearance required

Rules and Regulations

  • NO DOGS WILL BE PERMITTED ON THE PREMISES WITHOUT A COPY OF CURRENT IMMUNIZATION RECORDS
  • The same handler must handle the dog for the whole set of classes
  • Dogs must have current identification (ID tag) on their collars
  • Read the complete Barking Hills Rules and Regulations
  • Since we close our classes when full, there are no refunds once you have paid for class.

Holiday and Weather Closings

  • Please call (908) 996-9911 two hours before the start of your class to check for weather related closings. If classes have been cancelled, the machine will have a message stating so, otherwise, classes are on schedule.
  • Barking Hills is closed Independence Day weekend (July 4-6), Labor Day week: (September 1-6), Columbus Day (Oct 12), Thanksgiving (November 26-29), Winter Holidays (December 24-January 3), Martin Luther King Day (Jan 18) and Memorial Day week (May 21st -26th - Join us at Camp Barking Hills!)

How to Register

1. You don't need to fill out the Registration Information Form but you will need a note from your veterinarian clearing your dog for coursing. Please send it, with a copy of your dog's immunization records to:
