Competition Novice Ring Prep

This class is for dogs and handlers who wish to train to compete in either AKC (for American Kennel Club recognized breeds) or UKC (United Kennel Club for all others) obedience trials. 

Ring Prep is to help you and your dog prepare to trial as well as using matches to your advantage.  Ring "manners", warm ups, what to expect and tips to help you show your dog to his or her advantage.  Know when to show up, when to get to the ring, who's in front of you, when to come back for stay exercises.  Feel confident you are prepared to show your best.  Bring your questions!

Requirements

  • Any beginners class

Rules and Regulations

  • NO DOGS WILL BE PERMITTED ON THE PREMISES WITHOUT A COPY OF CURRENT IMMUNIZATION RECORDS
  • The same handler must handle the dog for the whole set of classes
  • Dogs must have current identification (ID tag) on their collars
  • Read the complete Barking Hills Rules and Regulations
  • Since we close our classes when full, there are no refunds once you have paid for class.

Holiday and Weather Closings

  • Please call (908) 996-9911 two hours before the start of your class to check for weather related closings. If classes have been cancelled, the machine will have a message stating so, otherwise, classes are on schedule.
  • Barking Hills is closed Independence Day weekend (July 4-6), Labor Day Camp: (September 3-6), Columbus Day Camp (Oct 9), Thanksgiving (November 24-28), Winter Holidays (December 24-January 2), Martin Luther King Day (Jan 18) and Memorial Day week (May 21st -23rd - Join us at Camp Barking Hills!)
