Competition Novice

If basic training is fun, how much more fun would it be to compete with your dog?! Emphasis on handling, teamwork and motivating your dog. Whether you're an experienced competitor or just starting with your first competition dog, we can help you prepare to go into the ring. For dogs and handlers who have completed any beginners class who wish to train to compete in AKC or UKC obedience trials. 

 

Requirements
  • A Basic Obedience Class
  • While not required, Basic Level 2, Shaping Behavior Level One and Two are HIGHLY recommended

 

Rules and Regulations

  • NO DOGS WILL BE PERMITTED ON THE PREMISES WITHOUT A COPY OF CURRENT IMMUNIZATION RECORDS
  • The same handler must handle the dog for the whole set of classes
  • Dogs must have current identification (ID tag) on their collars
  • Read the complete Barking Hills Rules and Regulations
  • Since we close our classes when full, there are no refunds once you have paid for class.

Holiday and Weather Closings

  • Please call (908) 996-9911 two hours before the start of your class to check for weather related closings. If classes have been cancelled, the machine will have a message stating so, otherwise, classes are on schedule.
  • Barking Hills is closed Independence Day weekend (July 4-6), Labor Day week: (September 1-6), Columbus Day (Oct 12), Thanksgiving (November 26-29), Winter Holidays (December 24-January 3), Martin Luther King Day (Jan 18) and Memorial Day week (May 21st -26th - Join us at Camp Barking Hills!)
