Basic Obedience for the Family Pet -
Level One

For "teenage" and adult dogs 5 months and over at the start of class.  This course provides an introduction to essential obedience skills, reinforces good manners, and focuses on common training challenges. Includes sit, down, stay, coming when called, loose lead walking, greeting guests politely and manners around food. WE MUST HAVE YOUR REGISTRATION 7 DAYS BEFORE THE START OF THE FIRST CLASS. You need to bring a copy of his/her inoculation records for us to keep - no dogs are permitted in the building without it.

Requirements
  • For dogs 5 months and up at the start of class
  • REGISTRATION FOR BASIC OBEDIENCE MUST BE RECEIVED SEVEN DAYS BEFORE THE START OF CLASS

Rules and Regulations

  • NO DOGS WILL BE PERMITTED ON THE PREMISES WITHOUT A COPY OF CURRENT IMMUNIZATION RECORDS
  • The same handler must handle the dog for the whole set of classes
  • Dogs must have current identification (ID tag) on their collars
  • Read the complete Barking Hills Rules and Regulations
  • Since we close our classes when full, there are no refunds once you have paid for class.

Holiday and Weather Closings

  • Please call (908) 996-9911 two hours before the start of your class to check for weather related closings. If classes have been cancelled, the machine will have a message stating so, otherwise, classes are on schedule.
  • Barking Hills is closed Independence Day weekend (July 4-6), Labor Day week: (September 1-6), Columbus Day (Oct 12), Thanksgiving (November 26-29), Winter Holidays (December 24-January 3), Martin Luther King Day (Jan 18) and Memorial Day week (May 21st -26th - Join us at Camp Barking Hills!)
