Introduction to Agility - Level One

One of the fastest growing sports in the United States. Not only fun and healthy for your dog - but for you too!  For dogs and handlers who have never tried agility and for started dogs.  Tunnel, A-frame, dog walk, teeter, table, jumps, chute and weave poles - your dog will learn them all.  All classes will be held outdoors at the Frenchtown location (in a completely fenced area) so please dress appropriately. Please call two hours or less before the start of class = the machine will state if class is cancelled due to weather.

Requirements
  • Prior experience in a group obedience class

Recommendations

Basic Obedience Level 1 & Level 2
Intermediate Level 1
Shaping Behavior - Level 1 & Level 2

Your dog will be off lead, in the same area as other dogs for some of the classes so a dog that comes when called will be easier for you to keep focused

Rules and Regulations

  • NO DOGS WILL BE PERMITTED ON THE PREMISES WITHOUT A COPY OF CURRENT IMMUNIZATION RECORDS
  • The same handler must handle the dog for the whole set of classes
  • Dogs must have current identification (ID tag) on their collars
  • Read the complete Barking Hills Rules and Regulations
  • Since we close our classes when full, there are no refunds once you have paid for class.

Holiday and Weather Closings

  • Please call (908) 996-9911 two hours before the start of your class to check for weather related closings. If classes have been cancelled, the machine will have a message stating so, otherwise, classes are on schedule.
  • Barking Hills is closed Independence Day weekend (July 4-6), Labor Day week: (September 1-6), Columbus Day (Oct 12), Thanksgiving (November 26-29), Winter Holidays (December 24-January 3), Martin Luther King Day (Jan 18) and Memorial Day week (May 21st -26th - Join us at Camp Barking Hills!)
