Choosing a ClassSo how do you decide where to take your dog for classes? And what class should you take? You will want to observe any class you may be interested in attending. Look at the staff - are they pleasant? Professional? Well informed? Are their instructions clear and easy to follow? How do they treat the students in the class? Are they courteous? Helpful? Do the students seem interested? Do the dogs seem "up" and happy? Are the instructors available to the students for additional help? Perhaps most important of all ... do YOU feel comfortable in that environment? Is this someplace you can work and learn?
If you feel good and comfortable with the staff and the facility then it is a place where you can learn and train your dog. If you are not comfortable - find another place to train! No matter how good the instructors may be and no matter how good the reputation of the school - it is not the place for you and your dog. Keep looking and you will find the right place for you. Ask your friends, ask your veterinarian and ask anyone whose dog is behaving the way you would like your dog to act. You will find the training center for you! As to which class to take - ask the instructor or staff's help in deciding which class would be right for you and your dog. Remember that the goal is a well trained, happy dog.
