Q: I'm new
to the whole "dog camp" experience. I'm not
sure my dog is well trained enough to come to camp. How
much training should a dog have?
Is your
dog housetrained? Yes? Then your dog is well trained
enough to come to camp! Camp Barking Hills is a place for
you and your dog to try new things, learn some stuff and
have a great time together. There will be dogs with lots
of different skill levels at camp.
Q: Where does my dog stay?
With
you, of course. Dogs are permitted in all classes,
lectures, seminars, in the dorms and at meals. Many
campers choose to bring a portable crate so their dog can
get some rest or to leave their dog in their room to rest
during parts of the day.
Q: Is everything included
in the camp fee?
The
camp fee includes all activities, lectures, seminars and
classes. Meals and lodging are extra. Everything else,
raffles, tricky tray, games, arts and crafts, Canine Good
Citizen Evaluation, EVERYTHING else is included. You can,
of course, schedule and pay for a private lesson or
private canine massage.
Q: What should I bring
with me?
All
campers receive a packet with a recommended list of
things to make your stay more comfortable and fun. If you
forget something, don't worry, the camp store is well
equipped and Hackettstown has everything you could
possibly need.
