Q: I'm new
to the whole "dog camp" experience. I'm not
sure my dog is well trained enough to come to camp. How
much training should a dog have?
Is your
dog housetrained? Yes? Then your dog is well trained
enough to come to camp! Actually, your dog can come even if he/she isn't
housetrained! Camp Barking Hills is a place for
you and your dog to try new things, learn some stuff and
have a great time together. There will be dogs with lots
of different skill levels at camp.
Q: Where does my dog stay?
With
you, of course. Dogs are permitted in all classes,
lectures, and seminars. Many
campers choose to bring a portable crate so their dog can
get some rest especially during lunch or seminars.
Q: Is everything included
in the camp fee?
The
camp fee includes all activities, lectures, seminars and
classes. You can pack in your lunch or order lunch from one of the local
resturants.
Q: What should I bring
with me?
All
campers receive a packet with a recommended list of
things to make your stay more comfortable and fun.
Q: Didn't you use to have a sleep away
camp?
Yes we did, but
unfortunately the venue has gotten more and more expensive. In
order to keep costs down, we have decided to do multiple daycamps
instead.
Q: Are all the daycamps the same?
Each daycamp has
different activities and seminars. Some favorites will be repeated
at multiple camps but each daycamp has something different to offer.
Q: If I want to spend the night, is there
any place to stay?
Check out the
accommodations page for information on local, dog friendly hotels.
Q: What if I still have questions?
