About the
Northeast Crisis Response Coalition

The Northeast Crisis Response Coalition - Animal Assisted Crisis Response (NCRC) is comprised of
AAA/AAT organizations that have agreed to work cooperatively within their
communities. While it des not accept individuals as members, the NCRC
encourages persons interested in joining to contact an AAA or AAT
organization

The NCRC  actively recruits membership of all Animal Assisted Activity and Animal Assisted Therapy organizations.

The NCRC provides professional and advisory assistance and information to the Member Organizations, their AACR teams, emergency management and crisis response organizations on an on-going basis in the Northeast area.

The NCRC networks and coordinates drills and trainings for the Member Organizations and their AACR teams on an on-going basis in the Northeast area.

Through the training of and deployment of units comprised of Team Leaders, Group Coordinators and Team Members, Animal Assisted Crisis Response Teams will be able to respond in a timely, experienced and consistent manner to disasters or crisis response sites so as to provide much needed crisis intervention and critical incident management to victims and first responders on an "as needed" basis within the communities serviceable by available units from the Northeast area.

These are charitable services provided by the NORTHEAST RESPONSE COALITION to meet the needs of individuals in crisis and/or to meet the needs of communities during a critical incident.

The NCRC recruits membership participation in a Member Council from AAA/AAT organizations.

The NCRC coordinates deployment of AACR units and teams to a disaster or crisis response site upon request from emergency management agencies and crisis response organizations within its communities.

The NCRC, with assistance from the Member Council and Advisory Council
Is:

  • Developing training guidelines for Team Leaders, Group Coordinators and Site Leaders.  That training will incorporate leadership skills, communication skills, listening skills as well as Team Member skills.

  • Developing Recommendations and Training Guidelines for Team Members which encompass Chain of Command, personal safety, animal safety, victim safety, interaction and communication skills, confidentiality, incident site procedural responsibilities, dress and decorum skills.

  • Developing drills and trainings in cooperation with other emergency management agencies and crisis response organizations within its communities.

  • Designing and will provide trainings and educational forums to the emergency response and crisis response organizations within its communities.
